The Callisto Database was set up in 2010 by the eponymous research team of Fribourg University focusing on material culture and visual/textual representations of children in ancient societies. The ERC project Locus Ludi is now vastly expanding the database which will include all iconographic resources useful for teaching and research on play and game culture, involving animals, children and adults, men and women, heroes and gods, through the lenses of gender studies, cultural history, and anthropology.

La base de données Diathèque comprend un peu moins de 14'000 images de monuments et objets historiques à disposition des étudiantes et des étudiants dans le cadre des cours du département d'histoire de l'art et d'archéologie.

Cette base de données regroupe de nombreuses références journalistiques concernant le fédéralisme.

HolyNet is a searchable, interactive map worked out in the frame of the SNSF-Advanced Grant project Holy Networks. Locating, Shaping, and Experiencing Palestinian Loca Sancta (1187-1852). It systematically records the location, historical vicissitudes, and experiential dimension of the holy sites that came to be identified as material indicators of holy persons and sacred narratives by different Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities in post-Crusader Palestine. Furthermore, it explores their interconnectedness by reconstructing, also via 3D interactive panoramas, the topographic networks shaped by the kinetic experience of premodern pilgrims who visited the loca sancta along pre-established paths.

A major challenge in studying past climatic and biotic changes in the tropics is the scarcity of well-sampled fossil sites. The La Venta deposits in Colombia record one of the most fossil-rich regions in tropical South America and offers an exceptional opportunity to study the effect of the Miocene climatic changes and the evolution of extinct and extant biological groups in a low-latitude ecosystem. This place has an exceptional preservation of fossils representing an ancient tropical forest. Land and freshwater vertebrates, and less commonly plants and invertebrates, constitute most of the La Venta fossils. The mammal record has been used to define the Laventan Age/Stage ca. 13.5-11.8 million years old.

The Digital Database LEFem is the focal point of the ongoing Swiss National Science Foundation PRIMA Project, Portraying Medieval Women: The Materiality of Female Images and Art Patronage in the Latin-Ruled East (12th–15th centuries). This database comprises a comprehensive dataset that encompasses a broad range of comparative data, providing, for the first time, a systematic overview of women in art and artifacts produced within the designated chronological and geographical framework (Syria, Palestine, Cyprus, Greece, Southern Italy, and Sicily). As a multifaceted research tool, it incorporates various types of information, including visual, textual, historical, archaeological, and environmental data, as well as photographs, architectural drawings, maps and measurements, among others. Each entry includes a detailed description of each artwork along with its bibliography. Consequently, the Digital Database LEFem enables remote access and widespread dissemination of the investigated material, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of medieval women and their agency.

La base de données Ludus a été développée en 2019 par le projet ERC Locus Ludi. The Cultural Fabric of Play and Games in Classical Antiquity 2017-2022 (no 741520) dirigé par la Prof. Véronique Dasen.

La base de données Numismatique antique fribourgeoise online (NAFO) constitue la plateforme de publication électronique de diverses collections de numismatique antique publiques et privées conservées dans le canton de Fribourg. Élaborée par la chaire d’histoire de l’Antiquité au sein du Département d’histoire de l’Université de Fribourg, cette base de données se veut tout à la fois un outil de diffusion de l’information scientifique à destination des spécialistes et un vecteur de valorisation d’une partie du patrimoine numismatique cantonal à l’attention du grand public intéressé par l’histoire des monnaies antiques.

Le projet Pilgrims consiste en l’élaboration d’une base de données regroupant des extraits de quelques 300 textes médiévaux concernant des récits de pèlerins en différentes langues européennes. Ces récits sont regroupés en sites et documentés de nombreuses metadata telles que les sources, les données géographiques, le contexte environnemental, etc.
